...morning glory.

I've always LOVED the morning. It's hard to put my finger on one specific reason... but based on this picture I almost think it's the lighting! Have you ever gotten up a little extra early, just to be able to enjoy the serenity that's only found before the rest of the world (or household) is up?? It's glorious. Truly.

I love waking up and getting my day started just to be able to hit the ground running on the right track.

If you aren't used to doing this, I challenge you to get up 20 minutes earlier tomorrow... jump in the shower and have your day lined up, but then just enjoy the quiet. And the lighting. :) Enjoy the stillness and gather your thoughts and your intentions for the day. I enjoy spending that time over a cup of coffee and my Bible and journal, but you may just want to soak up the moment.

If you don't love it as much as I do, you've only gain a little extra time to your day... if you do love it, let me know what your favorite part is! I'd love to have pointer and ideas to change things up a bit.

All the best. :)

i have yet to find a reunion i haven't enjoyed...

Fruit Loops Shots: somethings are worth spending your allowance on!

A year ago, the community I was a part of was lead in many different directions. It was difficult to be separated from so many people that I enjoy and care about... lucky for me, I tend to stick with people who believe in reuniting and connecting and enjoying each other. This community is no different and best not ever change.

So, one lovely lady in particular, I had the opportunity of working with her daughter and I just totally fell in love. Her daughter has spunk like you've never known and this huge personality... so, I didn't know Sam super-well, but I felt like I should have just by association, right?!

Okay, so here we are. It's a year later. Everyone's leading a new life of sorts and I get to catch up with Sam. (Yay!) We cover all the basics: where are you working? what are the kids up to? what's new and exciting? Yada, yada, yada... Blah, blah, blah.

We maybe mentioned the fact that we don't get out as much as when we worked together. And it may have come up that we needed to toast our new lives with Fruit Loops shots. And we just might have realized that we're both pretty close to broke.... but if we're nothing else, we are resourceful.

I have a great-uncle who has been paying me my 'inheritance' in $2 bills since I can remember... Apparently I'd seen him 3 times recently. Sam had some dollas tucked away too. We scrounged until we found all we needed for two fruit loop shots and a modest tip for our delightful waitress...

It's the little things in life, I tell ya. It's all about the little things.
